As a photographer and filmmaker, her work distills New Orleans culture to its finest essence and gives us a unique insight into the humanity and emotion of its culture-bearers and cultural institutions. As a community activist, she has been a relentless defender of the people of New Orleans by doing the sometimes distasteful work of shining a light on hate, corruption, and malfeasance wherever they rear their ugly heads, and by spearheading efforts that have time and again resulted in meaningful benefits for underprivileged and underrepresented communities in New Orleans.
